The Travel and Tourism courses at Brooklands College install confidence, discipline and professionalism that is so important in the service industries. These three students all completed the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism in 2019 and progressed onto very different routes:
Events Management
With a keen interest in organising events, Lauren Harrison-Powell is thrilled to now be working as an Assistant Event Manager at Metropolitan Police Sports Club.
“I am a very organised person and love planning events and seeing them come together. Events work is very varied and you need a number of skills which I feel were covered in the travel and tourism course.”
Cabin Crew
Up in the skies, Amber Welling is now enjoying learning customer service skills as a Cabin Crew Apprentice at British Airways.
“I’m currently 6 weeks into a 12 month apprenticeship, so am in the training phase. It’s what I have always wanted to do and I am so excited for the future. The course at Brooklands gave me so much confidence, which you definitely need in this industry.”
University
Continuing her studies, Kiera Buttery is developing her knowledge by studying Tourism Management at the University of Surrey.
“The course and tutors were fantastic, the college was easy to get to and I really enjoyed the course, a lot of what I learnt has helped on my University course.”
