Welcome To The Frontline

Attention! Our students had an exciting visit from a few members of the Welsh Guards today.

First on the agenda, our Applied Science students were given a presentation about life in the military and information of what people could expect if enrolling.

Next up, our Uniformed Public Services students stood to attention and were given a disciplinary inspection. Chin up, straight lines, no fidgeting, heels touching enough to fit a boot in-between the toes… Our young “troops” performed well and were permitted to take a seat for an in-depth presentation on experiences on the frontline, ceremonial duties and extensive knowledge of life in the army.

Our students had an exciting visit from a few members of the Welsh Guards today.

The students were also given the opportunity to speak with the officers and get their hands on real life weapons & military tools (unloaded and for just a moment!) including guns, special binoculars, blades and they even got to try on the bearskin headpiece.

The Welsh Guards are Wales’s Senior Infantry Regiment, they serve the nation through both fighting duties and ceremonial roles acting as guardians to the royal palace.
