The option of going to university can present itself in many ways. It may be something you’ve always dreamed about doing, it could be essential for the career you’d like to go into, or it just ends up being a natural stage of progression.
Ready to head off to university, Level 3 Catering & Hospitality students Erin and Jensen share their story.
Erin and Jensen enjoy the vocational study offered by the College. “It’s quite varied – we do pastry, main kitchen and some theory. We learn quite a lot,” says Erin. “It’s practical. There’s not too much theory work,” Jensen states.
They knew that they would progress onto university, they will both be studying International Hospitality Management at Sheffield Hallam University. “I always wanted my own business and knew that, before coming to Brooklands, I wanted to pursue that. I looked into it more through college” Erin plans to own her own bakery someday. “It’s something I knew I wanted to do even before I started my course at college. After being here for 3 years, I looked into hospitality management.” Jensen wishes to go into hotel management in the future.
Erin and Jensen comment that they have had a good experience studying at Brooklands College and would recommend others to study here as well.
