This month, our Uniformed Protective Services students have received industry talks from the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and the Army Medical Corps.

Sean Garrett (Chief Petty Officer) in the Royal Navy delivered a presentation to Public Services students about the 100+ roles available to them in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. As part of this he explained how the Royal Navy is organised into the surface fleet, Submarine Service and Royal Marines. Roles within these three areas include Police Officer, Nurses, Medics, Combat Soldier, Engineering, Communications and Aviation.

Matthew Foster visited us to deliver career guidance in the Royal Air Force. He spoke about working overseas and where a career in the RAF can take you. The talk was followed with a Q&A session.

Cpl Adam Martin and his team from the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Nursing Corps and Army Medical Corps spoke to students about the range of medical careers available in the Army. He then delivered some basic medical training using bandages and tourniquets.
