They were young, as we were young

At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we will remember them. On Armistice Day 2019, Brooklands College paused to remember and pay our respects.

The Uniformed Public Services students lead the service to honour those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom. They laid small wooden crosses and Interim Principal Christine Ricketts laid a wreath of poppies. Staff and students from across the College then fell quiet as a two-minute silence was observed.

Phil Waters, the Uniformed Public Services Lecturer said “It is a fitting tribute for staff and students to come together on Armistice Day. We honour those who have lost their lives in the line of duty, so that we can enjoy the freedom we do today.”
