Retrain In Surrey

This is a challenging time in the world for many whose jobs are at risk due to COVID-19. For Surrey residents and workers especially, the unforeseeable future may be daunting as airlines and other major businesses are unable to retain employees.

Spelthorne Borough Council have announced that the industries hardest hit are Retail, Hospitality and supply chain to Heathrow. Amongst the 57,700 people of working age in the borough, 27% currently furloughed and 4,082 are employed directly by Heathrow. In October when the furlough scheme ends, unemployment figures will rise. Heathrow Airport reports that they will be up to 80% capacity in August 2021 and back to normal in 2022.
