Across the recent weeks, students and staff have been working hard to revitalise our onsite allotment to be able to put it to good use. Students got stuck in by weeding, cutting the grass, painting beds as well as generally cleaning and tidying the area. Consisting of planting beds and a large polytunnel, it is a perfect space to grow fruits and vegetables for the College. However, in the last week, high winds reversed this good work by ripping through the roof of the polytunnel and it caused extensive damage to the area.
We would now like to appeal to our local community and anyone who can offer assistance in the repair and renovation of our edible garden.
You can help us by donating:
There are many aims and possibilities for the use of our allotment – a community garden for all – to allow all members of the college to benefit from it. It will provide Catering students with food to cook with, allow all students and staff to grow their own food with a potential gardening club, and we will also sell produce to the local community. So, please help us bring life back into our edible garden!
