Hair & Beauty Competition 2020

On 12^th February 2020, the heart of Brooklands College was transformed into a dazzling showcase of creativity with the human body. Our annual hair & beauty competition allows students to experiment with creativity and push their boundaries.

The competition comprised of various group stages including Level 1 Hair & Beauty, Level 2 Hair & Beauty and Level 3 Avant Garde. From extravagant headpieces, artistic body designs and daring make-up work, the students excelled in their creations.

Each masterpiece was scrutinised by our expert panel of judges including Martin Robert Hunt (New Image Salon), David Vault Baker, Theresa Bullock, James Johnson, Lauren Reeves (The Place) and Natalie Eaton. Having strong knowledge in the hair & beauty industry, the judges observed technique, innovation and attention to detail among other things.

Congratulations, not just to the winners, but to all of the participants for an exceptional display of imagination creating pieces of art with the human form. We would like to thank the models and the judging panel for their support to our students. The next challenge for our L3 Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair & Media Make-up students will be the National Hairdressing Federation Avant Garde competition at the Blackpool Hair Festival in March 2020.
