Get Creative, Go Digital!

There was an array of excitement on Wednesday as the College held its first ever event focussed around the possible career avenues and courses offered in the creative and digital industries.

The event saw the return of Daniel Good, returning to Brooklands College as a guest speaker instead of a student, whose 20-year career spanning from publishing and children’s television brought a wealth of experience when it came to delivering a motivational lecture. Talking about his experience within the industry, former Brooklands student Daniel runs his own production company, One Good Fox, now creating new shows for Netflix. He also created the BBC’s Bafta-nominated Waybuloo and both Wissper and Floogals for Channel 5.

Sarah Clancey, Head of Curriculum, started by welcoming everyone and giving an overview of the three areas, Art & Design, Computing and Media. There was an end of year exhibition in Art & Design, showcasing a year worth of work by Art students.

This event gave students interested in starting at Brooklands College in September 2019 or beyond a taster of one of the three areas and possible career options to explore for life after college.

Open Events also provide a good opportunity for school leavers interested in choosing the vocational route to explore the facilities, ask questions and personally talk to the lecturers. Click here for a list of upcoming Open Events.
