Dear students, parents and staff,
Following Ofqual’s announcement that A Level and GCSE students are to receive Centre Assessed Grades, Pearson have reviewed the impact on BTEC students and have decided to apply this same principle to students receiving BTECs this summer.
A communication from Pearson/Edexcel was sent out at 16:33 on Wednesday 19 August 2020 – click here to read
The following BTEC programmes will all be reviewed and regraded:
BTEC Level 3 Nationals (2010 QCF and 2016 RQF)
BTEC Level 1/2 Tech Awards
BTEC Level 2 Technicals
BTEC Level 1/2 Firsts
Further to the above it has now been requested from Pearson, not to issue any BTEC L1 and L2 results tomorrow as these will be reviewed and where appropriate, regraded. Students should be reassured that no grades will go down, whilst there is the potential for them to go up.
To be clear the Level 3 results that were issued to students for BTEC programmes last week, now will be re-graded and re-released, on further notice. We understand fully the frustration and uncertainty that will be felt by both staff, students and parents, however we are being guided by the AOC and Pearson.
As soon as we have any further communication, we will update this page on our website.
Yours faithfully,
Christine Ricketts
