A win for Supported Learning

SEND & Transition and Whitely Village have both won ‘Surrey Choices – Making a Difference Awards’ for supporting work experience for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities. The awards were given to highlight the positive contribution that our SEND learners make to our community, and to the Whitely for the work opportunities offered. The project raised the department’s work experience rates to 80% with 40 SEND learners participating in regular work experience in the areas of horticulture and maintenance.

Karen Cumins and Lyn Blatchford accompanied two of our learners, Glenn Soosaipillai (left) and Michael Price (right) to the awards evening on Tuesday and accepted the award on behalf of Brooklands College.
