People who choose to work in the Uniformed Protective Services, whether this be the Emergency Services or the Armed Forces, often choose to do so because they like variety and a challenge. These jobs are not always conventional desk jobs, and staff working in them support each other in order to fulfil their roles successfully. All courses start with a ‘boot camp’ to ensure that both teamwork and discipline, particularly self-discipline, are embedded into the course. There are a variety of trips throughout the year in the UK, depending on the level you are studying. Students are required to wear a uniform one day a week and on any trips. You will learn drill and inspection, preparing you for all of the Public Services.
This course aims to provide students with a basic understanding of employment in the Sport, Leisure and Uniformed Public Services industries. The course will provide the requisite knowledge, skills and competencies for students to successfully transition on to the Level 2 Certificate the following year. The course also provides students with knowledge, skills and attitudes appropriate for employment.
This is a disciplined course that is designed to prepare young people for entry into the either the Emergency Services or Armed Forces.
