The Graduate Award is an examination that combines both practical and theoretical aspects, designed for young chefs under the age of 25 who wish to showcase their skills, connect with peers, and challenge themselves.
It serves as a platform for chefs to enhance their culinary abilities and potentially lead to exciting opportunities like competing in the Young National Chef of the Year competition. After a rigorous selection process, the Guild has narrowed down the entries to three competitive heats.
Finalists will receive an exclusive two-day mentoring experience in July, including visits to places like Daylesford Organics and gaining insights into the challenges of the ultimate exam which will take place on Wednesday 4th September.
Founder of the Graduate Awards and vice-president of the Craft Guild of Chefs, Steve Munkley said: “This year’s entrants gave us a difficult task as so many ambitious young chefs put themselves forward. The event has attracted chefs from some of the best establishments in the UK and it’s positive to see and hear about the support they will be getting from their employers as well as learn about their future goals.”
