Higher Education – Student of the Year Finalist 2024/25

We are delighted to announce that one of our nominated students, Daniela Clarkson, has been named a finalist at the AoC Student of the Year Awards! Under the category of Higher Education, this award aims to recognise students across England who deserve recognition for their continued dedication to their study, their abilities to inspire others, for going above and beyond to give back to their community.

During her time at Brooklands college, Daniela chose to study Motorsport Engineering. Within the 3 years of her course, she progressed from a Level 3 qualification to a Level 6 Bachelor of Engineering degree, with Oxford Brookes University. Throughout her journey, Daniela has continued to support and inspire her fellow students as a coach and mentor, but also as a student governor. Despite living with diabetes, she has consistently assisted and mentored her colleagues, while also participating in college events and activities, acting as an ambassador for our college.

Daniela is down to the final two in the Higher Education category, both of whom are invited to attend the AoC Annual conference dinner at the ICC, Birmingham on 12 November 2024, where the winner and runner up will be announced. The final winners from each category will then be invited to attend an awards celebration in Westminster in 2025, where they will be honoured along with all other prizewinners.
